About the Koine Immersion Series

Intuitive Language Learning

The award-winning Koine Immersion Series was conceived by a university Greek teacher who was looking for resources to help his students learn to hear and speak New Testament Greek (a sub-set of 1st century, Koine Greek that exhibits numerous Hebrew and Aramaic influences). The specific resources he wanted did not exist. After lengthy conversations with Michael Halcombe and Frederick Long at GlossaHouse, he began creating the resources found in this series.

The specific goals of this series are to teach students to hear, speak, and read Koine Greek, with a special emphasis on learning those words that are most commonly found in the New Testament. These words are of special interest because this will facilitate the learning of students who want to read and understand the New Testament (and the Septuagint, or Greek translation of the Old Testament) in its original language, and will help religion students meet language requirements for undergrad, seminary, or other graduate school.

Koine In The Classroom

This series has been designed to be used in multiple settings. We are developing resources so that: university teachers can utilize these texts in their classrooms; university students can use them to meet the objectives of their Biblical Greek courses; K-12 learners can access the language in fun and interesting ways; and homeschool families can add a language resource to their curriculum.
